Over the past 20 years Electrical Testers have been accredited with most of the relevant electrical, health & safety and fire standards active in the UK. We thought it may be helpful to include details of some of these accreditations below.

CHAS – The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme
CHAS is established as the market leader for health and safety pre-qualification in the UK. It is a non-commercial scheme available to suppliers (those who provide goods and services) and to organisations (buyers) looking for suitably competent suppliers.
ECA – Electrical Contractors Association
Founded over 100 years ago, the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) is the UK’s largest and leading trade association representing electrical, electronic, installation engineering and building services companies. They work closely with government and key national bodies to improve industry standards and procedures.
Fire Protection Association
The Fire Protection Association is the UK’s national fire safety organisation, one of 28 similar national bodies worldwide. It was established in 1946 and has strong support from the insurance industry, primarily through the Association of British Insurers and Lloyd’s.
NQA – National Quality Assurance
NQA is a leading assessment, verification and certification body and works in partnership with a wide range of businesses, government departments and charitable organisations to help improve performance in quality, environment and health and safety management.
All electrical work within a domestic setting must comply with Part P of the Building Regulations in England and Wales introduced on 1 January 2005., which are legally enforceable. One way of achieving this is to apply British Standard BS 7671 (the “Wiring Regulations”), including carrying out adequate inspection and testing to this standard of the completed works.
Safecontractor is an accreditation scheme that assesses the health & safety competency of contractors and service providers. Many large organisations now use Safecontractor as their primary means of selecting contractors.
The Institution of Fire Engineers
Licensed by the Engineering Council (UK), the IFE upholds professional standards within all public and private fire sectors by offering assessment of knowledge, experience and development and engages with major stakeholders to offer international conferences, identify and promote good practice and enhance technical networks worldwide.
